Description:

Typically reporting to the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief, serves as manager to one of the divisions of the Fire Department, such as Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and General Administration. Also, may serve as commander of a fire suppression shift, supervising a number of fire companies through the Fire Captains; may serve as acting Fire Chief in the absence of the Chief.
