Description:

Under general supervision, performs intermediate or journey-level skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of agency buildings, facilities, and equipment. Performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks; performs preventative maintenance duties and identifies parts, tools and other service needs; uses hand and power tools; installs and removes a variety of equipment; troubleshoots maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing and equipment repair or replacement; repairs railings, fences, fixtures, roofs, walls and related structures; Performs rough painting, routine plumbing and electrical repairs, and plastering and construction tasks; responds to emergency calls for service on a call-out basis and works outside normal working hours as needed.

Guide:

• Requires ability to read, write and follow oral instructions, and one to two years of building/facilities maintenance experience.

Exclusion:

• Skilled trades classes.
• Custodians.
• Crew Leaders.
• Entry-level or inexperienced maintenance classes.
