Description:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled, journey-level duties in the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of mechanical, electrical and electronic systems, equipment, devices and machinery used in the operation of a large, state-of-the-art waste water treatment plant and wastewater systems. Trades areas covered by this class include mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, components and machinery; plumbing and pipe fitting; welding; machine tool operation; industrial electrical systems installation, maintenance and repair; and the installation, troubleshooting and repair of electronic control systems.

Guide:

• Requires two to three years of mechanical and electronic equipment maintenance and repair work related to water and wastewater pneumatic control and electronic monitoring systems, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Equivalent to G.E.D. and training or certification in maintenance and repair standards.
