Description:

Under the administrative direction of the District Manager, Utilities Director, or equivalent position, plans, organizes, coordinates and directs the operation s and maintenance of the agency's wastewater collection and treatment plants, systems, facilities and related appurtenances in compliance with state and federal requirements; and performs related duties as assigned. Plans, coordinates, and manages the work of wastewater maintenance staff and prepares and presents state reports; and performs related duties as assigned.

Guide:

• Requires five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in the operation of a wastewater maintenance facility, at least four years of which were at a supervisory level; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Possession of a California Wastewater Treatment Certificate, Grade V; or the ability to obtain one within eighteen months from the date of appointment.
• May require additional water treatment certification as well.

Exclusion:

• Laboratory Managers
• Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators
• General Maintenance Superintendents.
