Description:

Under general supervision of a lead or supervisory trades/maintenance position, installs, maintains, trouble-shoots, repairs, and replaces electrical services, such as switches, outlets, wiring, breakers, circuitry, and other electrical and electronic components. Tests materials for proper connectivity and reads diagrams, blueprints and specifications to complete assignments. May maintain street lighting and traffic signals.

Guide:

• This is the journey-level classification and typically requires high school graduation and two or more years of electrical maintenance and repair experience.
• Coursework or certification in the theories and principles of electricity, safety practices, and electrical trades certification is highly desirable.
