Description:

Under general supervision of an Animal Care Manager or law enforcement managemen t position, organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of animal service personnel as part of a work group, shift or section, including many if not all of the following areas: animal licensing, adoption, spaying, field enforcement, feeding and maintenance, and records management. Coordinates medical care with veterinary technical, professional and contract personnel during assigned work time. Schedules assignments, approves absences, explains procedures, checks work, and handles public complaints and problems. Participates in performance appraisals involving staff, and prepares related records or reports.

Guide:

• Typically requires high school graduation and five or more years of animal care, field enforcement and public contact experience, preferably including at least one or more years of lead or supervisory experience.
