Description:

Under administrative direction of the Utilities, Maintenance, or Operations Director, plans, controls, and manages the activities and operations of water production facilities; oversees field supervisory personnel, administers division budget, and ensures water production, treatment and statutory reports are completed and submitted in a timely and reliable manner. Coordinates activities with other operating divisions, inspection activities, and contractors. Typically requires the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in hydraulics, chemistry, biology, natural sciences, hydrology, water engineering or a related field, or similar technical coursewor k. Five years of technical and supervisory experience in the operation of water production and treatment facilities. Ability to obtain a Grade IV or Grade V Water Treatment Operator Certificate from the State of California, depending upon the water treatment standards required of the agency.
