Description:

Professional or technical level position with responsibility for working with public customers and staff to reduce consumer water demand and water runoff. Communicates water conservation goals and encourages customer participation. Prepares educational materials, makes presentations, and conducts workshops related to water conservation. Schedules and conducts inspections of residential, commercial, and industrial sites, and landscaped areas to address inquiries and problems. Responds to questions regarding proper plants and landscaping. Assists with the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of water conservation research projects.

Guide:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field is required. Generally requires a minimum of two years of professional water science and landscape architecture experience or three years of field inspection and public education experience.

Exclusion:

• Water quality inspectors, laboratory technicians, and other environmental engineering positions.
