Description:

Under general supervision, acts as field training officer; provides technical guidance regarding proper law enforcement methods and report writing techniques to Police Officers serving in traffic patrol, motors, or other specialized assignments; writes and reviews reports to assure completeness and accuracy and the ability to successfully file and prosecute cases; performs field patrol and may serve in special collateral assignments given the agency.

Guide:

• Usually requires two to three years of law enforcement experience as a Police Officer.
• Typically requires high school graduation, completion of police academy, and P.O.S.T. Basic and Intermediate certification.

• Police Sergeants having full first-line supervisory authority and watch commanders.
