Description:

Under general supervision, receives, searches, books, and processes persons into custody with a jail/detention facility; assigns prisoners to cells and issues supplies; cooks and serves meals; continues to monitor health and safety of detainees; completes jail records and reports; transports prisoners to Court or other detention facilities, as needed.

Guide:

• At least one year of police operations, records, and/or jail support experience.
• High school graduation. Ability to successfully complete State Corrections Officer Core Course, as directed by the California Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) and maintenance of annual certifiable training to sustain the Correctional Treatment Certificate.

Exclusion:

• Police Records Clerks or Matrons who provide temporary assistance during booking.
• Sworn Police Officers who have other regular field assignments.
