Description:

Under general supervision, performs professional level financial analysis and accounting research functions working with revenues and expenditures. Makes economic assumptions and prepares short-term and long-term estimates involving general fund revenues, grants, and other revenues sources and capital outlays. Analyzes rate structures, tests changes, and compiles specialized operational and statutory reports. Completes short-term and long-term budgeting and financial assignments. Researches and compares sources of variance and using historical data and trends for future projections. May utilize specialized financial and accounting software or participate in audit activities; and performs related duties as assigned.

Guide:

Requires two to three years of budget research or financial accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Finance or Budgeting coursework or certification is desirable.

Reports to:

Accounting/Budget Manager or higher level accounting or financial position
