Description:

Under general supervision, performs a full range of professional and technical duties to support enterprise data management software, interfaces, and storage requirements. Installs and configures database management software, including upgrades, patches, and third-party tools; maintains database management software and related software and analyzes and resolves database problems; evaluates database requirements and evaluates, designs, and implements database systems; develops or validates deployment scripts; analyzes query plans, and data code and integrity, database availability and database system performance; writes stored procedures, functions, and batch jobs in the database system. Responds to database outages or performance problems and restores normal operations. Writes policies and procedures for database standards, management, security and maintenance; and performs related duties as assigned.

Guide:

Requires two to three years of experience in planning, designing, implementing, and administering server-based scalable databases and enterprise applications or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Database related training, coursework or certification is desirable.

Reports to:

Systems and Applications Manager or equivalent management position
