Description:

Under general supervision, develops GIS applications for systems users using programming languages including GIS database models and templates; writes, edits, and installs GIS applications; verifies that GIS test scripts have been coded to detect errors and fixes bugs; administers GIS servers and workstations by installing and trouble-shooting system software and programs; generates standard and custom reports, maps, diagrams, exhibits, and displays using GIS software and related equipment. Uses GIS software to make queries, conduct research, and perform informational analyses and integration with other systems and databases; and performs related duties as assigned.

Guide:

Requires two to three years of geo-based information systems research, applications, and infrastructure applications using GIS or other enterprise applications, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. GIS related training, coursework or certification is desirable.
