Description:
Under general supervision, performs a range of specialized professional and technical work related to network administration, systems administration, server administration, and security support. Install, maintain, and trouble-shoot network hardware and operating systems, and maintain and update user directories. Monitor operating system performance and data integrity and security and generate specialized reports. May provide technical direction to other work team members. Perform system backups, data recovery, and archiving and disaster recovery planning. Install, trouble-shoot, and support microcomputer and telecommunications equipment as required; and perform other related duties as assigned.
Guide:
Requires two to three years of network, operating systems, server and security administration work, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. Related training, coursework or certification is desirable that is related to the agency’s operating systems, networks, and servers.
Reports to:
Network Supervisor, Systems Manager or equivalent position
