Description:
Under general supervision, installs, maintains, and repairs plumbing systems and steam piping including controls and devices; plans and layouts alterations to existing systems and new plumbing systems; diagnoses malfunctions and performs repairs; installs water, gas, steam and sewer lines, fixtures, valves, gas and water heaters; cuts and threads pipe; cleans out obstructions in drains for water and sewer systems; applies insulation to pipes and equipment; makes alterations to existing systems; provides guidance to helpers as needed; and performs related duties as assigned.
Guide:
Requires two to three years of related plumbing maintenance and repair work for this journey-level position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Education equivalent to High School graduation or GED. Trades related training, coursework or certification is desirable.
