This is the entry-level classification in the professional Engineering job series. Incumbents work under close to moderate supervision and perform the more routine professional and technical civil engineering work. Duties include performing work in the development, design, construction and maintenance of structures and facilities, including streets, bridges, pipelines, power plants, water and sewer systems, flood control channels, dams, etc. Assists in engineering design work involving the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects.
