Under immediate supervision, performs unskilled manual labor involved in construction work, maintenance and repair of city streets, sewers, and public works projects, and performs related work as required. Performs a variety of routine unskilled manual tasks requiring primarily physical strength and coordination, such as digging and shoveling earth, lifting, carrying and wheeling heavy materials, picking up and emptying rubbish into trucks, sweeping streets and driveways, and cleaning up after completed jobs.
