This is the full journey-level classification in the professional civil engineering job series. Incumbents perform the full range of job duties under minimal supervision. Duties include performing work in the development, design, construction, and maintenance of structures and facilities, including streets, bridges, pipelines, power plants, water and sewer systems, flood control channels, dams, etc. Performs engineering design work involving the preparation of plans, specifica t ions, and cost estimates for projects of moderate complexity; may direct and check the work of entry-level engineers and/or sub-professional employees.

Guide:

• Requires a degree in Engineering and one to two years of experience; or a certificate as an Engineer-in-Training plus one to two years of experience.
