Description:

Lifts, preserves, classifies, compares and files fingerprints taken from crime scenes through the state Cal-I.D. system; compares fingerprints to possible suspects. Assists in taking photographs of crime scenes, and preparing photographs and fingerprint exhibits for courtroom use. May testify in court. Assists in searching crime scenes for evidence, preparing sketches, gathering photographs and fingerprints of citizens and employees as required.

Guide:

• Generally requires one-year of experience in identification techniques and finger printing and photography.
• Generally works under moderate supervision.
